Eighteen - Addition

Addere means to add.   And God has added to our blessings.  But man has added to his sins.  And summa means the highest.   And the Highest One shall add man's sins and shall judge all men in the fire.

Addition is derived from the Latin word addere, which means “to supply” or “to give”. For the Father is willing to give to mankind, and man is willing to take from the Father. And as a father gives gifts to his children, so does the Father give gifts to His children. For as the Lord said, “if you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Luke 11:13) But rather than asking for that which is good, man has asked for that which is evil. Thus “you ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”(James 4:3) And due to man’s nature all men tend to sin, yet God gave His people restitution for their sins, by allowing them to add to their sacrifices. And when they would sin against a holy thing, they could add one fifth to their offerings. (Leviticus 5:16) And when a man wrongfully took what was not his, he could add one fifth to his sacrifice. (Leviticus 22:14) And if any person would sin against another, he could one fifth to his offering. (Numbers 5:6-7) And on the Sabbath day an offering was added, to the burnt and drink offerings at the table. (Numbers 28:9-10)
