Chapter 31:  The Mind of Christ is Love

The mind of Christ is love.  For what greater love is there, that God would choose to sacrifice His only begotten Son.  And there is no greater love than that one would sacrifice his life for his friends.

Contrary to what we believe, love comes from the Mind of Christ and the mind of man, and not from than the heart of man. For what is love but a choice of the mind. And 'greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.' (John 15:13) For the greatest love of all is that God sent His only Son, and by His love, He sacrificed His blood for the redemption of mankind. 'For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.' (John 10:17-18) And what does it mean to love? Recall the words of Moses before Christ's coming,'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.' (Deuteronomy 30:6) Yet recall the mindful words of Christ, 'love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' (Matthew 22:37-40) For by the sacrifice of His blood on the cross, the triune of God’s graces now is complete: faith, hope, and love; 'but the greatest of these is love.' (1 Corinthians13:13)
