Chapter 10: Christ is the Seed

A seed constitutes a perfect embryo.  And Christ was sent as the perfect Seed.  And the Son planted the Seed so that His people and His Word would grow.  And now that Seed has been sown, the fruit is ripe for the harvest.

God created the earth. And when God created the earth, He created the vegetation. And with the vegetation, He created the seed that it may spread throughout the earth. And when it was complete, 'God saw that it was good.' (Genesis 1:11-12) Who was the first seed? The first seed was of Adam and Eve. But like the fallen state of man, the first seed of man was fallen. For the perfect Seed is complete in itself, able to grow and bear fruit on its own. Unlike the perfect Seed of God, their seeds were not complete, but required their union to produce a child. 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.' (Genesis 2:24) And as God promised, the seed of their union would be fraught with strife, 'And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.' (Genesis 3:15) And with the fall of man, and the fallen state of their seed, came the fallen state of all men, for they were given to idolatry, adultery, covetousness, thievery, murder, and ultimately death. But by God’s grace, He made a covenant through Abraham, the father of the nations; for by his faith, God promised to spread his seed through the nations. (Genesis 22:15-18) And through His covenant,He commanded His people to remember Him, through the sacrifice from the seed of the land. (Leviticus 27:30). But they forgot His covenant, and transgressed His ways, and they were punished for their wicked ways. Yet He kept His promise that the holy seed would return, for 'the holy seed shall be its stump.' (Isaiah 6:12-13)
